Delete your account

This page explains how to permanently delete your Billwale account and the data associated with it. Required by Google Play’s Data Safety policy.

Option 1 — Delete from inside the app

1. Open the Billwale app on your phone.
2. Tap Settings in the bottom tab bar.
3. Tap Account → Delete account.
4. Confirm the deletion. You will be asked to enter the OTP sent to your registered phone number.
5. Once confirmed, your account and all data described below will be queued for deletion and you will be signed out.

Option 2 — Request deletion by email

If you cannot access the app, send an email to support.billwala@gmail.com from any address, with the following:

• Subject: “Account deletion request”
• The registered mobile phone number on the account (so we can identify it).
• A short statement: “I confirm I want to permanently delete my Billwale account and associated data.”

We may reply asking you to verify the request by sending a one-time code to the registered phone number, to prevent unauthorised deletions.

What gets deleted

When your deletion request is processed, the following are permanently removed:

• Your phone number and authentication record.
• Your shop profile, inventory items, and bill records.
• Your supplier list and credit ledger entries.
• Uploaded bill images, PDFs, and any extracted text.
• Voice recordings and transcripts.
• Session tokens and device records linked to your account.

What may be retained, and for how long

We retain a limited set of data when required by law or for legitimate business reasons:

• Aggregated, non-identifiable analytics (e.g. total number of bills generated by all users) — retained indefinitely. This data cannot be linked back to you.
• Tax and accounting records tied to any payments you made for paid features, where Indian tax law requires retention — typically up to 8 years.
• Backup snapshots — your data may persist in encrypted backups for up to 30 days after deletion, after which backups are overwritten in the normal rotation.

How long it takes

In-app deletions are processed within 24 hours. Email-based requests are processed within 7 calendar days of the verification step. You will receive a confirmation when deletion is complete.

This is permanent

Account deletion cannot be undone. After deletion you can sign up again with the same phone number, but you will start with an empty shop — your previous inventory, bills, and ledger will not be recoverable.
