Terms of Service

Effective date: May 3, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Billwale mobile application and related services (collectively, the “Service”) provided by Billwale (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a binding contract under the laws of India. By using the Service you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.

2. Your account

  • You authenticate with a mobile phone number using a one-time password.
  • You are responsible for keeping your device and phone number secure. Anyone able to receive your OTP can access your account.
  • You are responsible for all activity in your account, including activity by staff members you invite.
  • You agree to provide accurate and current information.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
  • Upload content you do not have the right to upload.
  • Attempt to interfere with, reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Use the Service to infringe intellectual property rights, harass any person, or send spam.
  • Misuse the OCR / AI extraction features to process content unrelated to your legitimate business records.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of all data you put into the Service — inventory, bills, suppliers, uploaded files. You grant us a limited licence to store, process and display this content solely to operate the Service for you. We do not sell your content. See our Privacy Policy for processing details.

5. AI-extracted content

Bill upload uses OCR and large language models to extract line items. These systems are imperfect and may misread quantities, prices, or item names. You are responsible for reviewing extracted items before saving them to your inventory. We are not liable for commercial decisions made on the basis of unreviewed AI output.

6. Service availability

We aim for high uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We may add, remove, or change features at any time.

7. Fees

The Service is currently free to use. We may introduce paid features in the future. Any fees will be clearly disclosed before they apply, and you will not be charged without your explicit agreement.

8. Intellectual property

The Billwale name, logo, app, website, and underlying software are owned by Billwale and protected by applicable IP law. These Terms do not transfer any ownership to you.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time — see Delete Account. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms or if continued provision of the Service to you becomes impractical.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy of AI-extracted data, or uninterrupted availability.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Billwale will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) ₹1,000.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Billwale from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

13. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Effective date” at the top of this page reflects the latest version. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of material changes. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
